A DEADLY FORCE DWELLS WITHIN HER
Growing up in desperate poverty, Ellie Peirce yearned for a better life, never imagining she’d be convicted of murder—or that an evil immortal would abduct her from death row. But Lothaire is no savior, as he himself plans to sacrifice Ellie in one month’s time. And yet the vampire seems to ache for her touch, showering her with wealth and sexual pleasure. In a bid to save her soul, Ellie surrenders her body to the wicked vampire, while vowing to protect her heart.
CENTURIES OF COLD INDIFFERENCE SHATTERED
Elizabeth tempts Lothaire beyond reason, as only his fated mate could. As the month draws to a close, he must choose between a millennia-old blood vendetta and his irresistible prisoner. Will Lothaire succumb to the miseries of his past . . . or risk everything for a future with her?

My Thoughts
This is the first novel in this series that I didn’t read prior to listening to the audiobook, therefor my opinion is strictly about the way I perceived it on audio.
Being back on Kresley Coles’ incredible and brilliant creation was just plain awesome!!
I truly loved Lothaire back story; it explained a lot about his actions, personality and where he’s coming from, I also loved some tender and insightful moments between him and Nix. Once again Kresley Cole weaves another gripping tale for the IAD series. I enjoyed this book tremendously. This is a terrific new addition.
Why only 4 hearts? I had such a mixed emotions about this book, I was upset that it didn’t blow me away, I like it a lot, but I wanted to love it, maybe my expectation were too high for one the most intriguing characters in the series.
Ok…. When an author is going to write his/her Baddest and most arrogant character in the romantic lead, he/she runs the risk of turning him into a real wimp. In this case, Lothaire stayed true to character, but he ended up sounding and acting not very nicely – and at times, he rubbed me the wrong way, it did help a little that was paired with a human that gave as good as she got, and that he was nicely redeemed a la Kresley’s style.
Another small issue I had, is that when the human world is mixed with the paranormal one (when it has not been done from the beginning) I get a little thing call logic. I don’t want to be logical when I read or listen to these novels, because it gets in the way of the fantasy and the seduction, and it makes it a little harder for me to be fully seduced into the story. Don’t get me wrong, I was seduced, but not 5 hearts seduced.
With that said, this is Kresley Cole, (whom I adore) and she’s always brilliant, the action and quirky dialogue are always enthralling and downright entertaining. She always manages to grab you and keep you at the edge of your seat, in my case glued to my Ipod, and Lothaire by all means is not the exception.
But forget everything I just said…..Everything, and let me just tell you; This is the HOTTEST book in the series!! Need I say more?
Am I going to get up again at 5am for the next novel? YOU BET.
One more thing, I highly recommend this audiobook to be enjoyed as part of this terrific series.

Narration
Robert Petkoff is the perfect choice to bring this series to life. With his deep and sexy voice he beautifully interprets all the male characters (yes!! YUM-YUM)
Even though I felt that his interpretation of Ellie was not as strong as it could have been (I’m starting to believe that a genuine southern accent is the hardest to accomplish) the magnificent portrayal of the remaining characters earned him a pass, without even mentioning how his years of experience on Broadway are more than apparent with his rendition of Lothaire. He delivers this story with a multidimensional feel that makes you experience it as if it is being performed by a full cast production and places you right in the middle of it, I Loved it!!!
