This is the first book in a new series by Eve Langlais. It is sort of a spin off of the Kodiak Point series. However, unlike some other spinoffs that I’ve read, you can read this one without having read Kodiak Point (though I highly recommend Kodiak Point, one of my favorite series by Eve). Basically, Bitten Point is a shifter friendly town, just like Kodiak Point. Our hero, Caleb, is just coming back from the same army installment that the Kodiak Point guys were in.

Anyway, Caleb is a croc shifter and is just coming back into town after being away at the war. He had left town totally unexpectedly. No one knew why he left and joined the army. It really upset his mother, brother and also his girlfriend. HIs pregnant girlfriend.  Now it is five years later and his son is four years old and has no idea who his father is.

Renny hasn’t had it easy since Caleb left her with a child. She is working two jobs to afford to pay all the bills. Four-year-old Luke doesn’t understand why mom is never around. He gets angry with her. He also has a bit of animalistic side to him that he got from his father.

There is also some suspense going on in this story. People are going missing. The children are reporting seeing a dinosaur. The shifters are smelling things they’ve never smelled before. We learn more about why Caleb up and left out of nowhere to join the army. It was exactly what I expected from a Eve Langlais story. It was fun, sexy and had some suspense to it as well. I love how Eve isn’t afraid to use animal shifters that aren’t the norm. Caleb’s brother is a snake shifter (one takes after mom and the other takes after dad). I hope he gets a book in this series.

Croc’s Return Narration

3 Hearts

Chandra Skyye is a narrator that I’ve listened to before with the Kodiak Point series. At first, I wasn’t a huge fan of her narration, but she has grown on me. While she will never be on my list as a top narration, I’ve come to be able to enjoy her narrations enough. In this story, we see her ability to add children into the mix, which I thought she did a pretty decent job. I do listen to her at an increased speed.

Author Eve LanglaisHello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane…with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.

I’m Melanie and I live in Ohio. I have two horses and a dog. I’m an animal lover, avid book reader and audiobook listener. I like to live vicariously through fictional characters. I enjoy reading and listening to mostly fictional books in the paranormal genre, including Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance and Horror. My favorite paranormal creatures are shifters, doesn’t matter the flavor.
